Mind and Body Come Together with Wing Tsun Kung-Fu.

In practicing Wing Tsun Kung-Fu you will find that precision is the key to effectiveness. Compared to standard exercises in a gym for example, Wing Tsun requires a focus of mind and body. You will start with simple movements but then you advance to doing more with another part of your body. First come the hands while in the adduction stance. Then comes the feet moving at the same time as your precise hand movements. Third will be checking your posture and the hip placement, shoulder placement, head being vertical, and then relaxing the whole body.

This is quite different from exercising a body part as in weight training, stairclimbing, or elastic band training. Wing Tsun engages the mind to a degree you may not have experienced before, even with many other martial arts. Perhaps Tai Chi would be similar. However, Tai Chi is seldom taught as self-defense. Shaolin Kung-Fu is technical and many of the movements are quite rigorous such as extremely low stances and extremely high kicks. No such low stances or high kicks in the greater part of Wing Tsun all the way up to instructor levels!
